It’s Flavor Innovation time!

Twice per year, Denali creates Flavor Innovation kits for our customers to discover new trends in ice cream and beyond. These kits contain a variety of frozen treats and inclusions and are sure to delight!

For the latest round of Flavor Innovation, we took into consideration that consumers are increasingly looking to not only to celebrate the big occasions, but to celebrate ‘little wins’ in their lives.* We celebrated this trend by incorporating baked inclusions such as choco crust cheesecake, churro, pound cake, and choco fudge cake pieces to our innovation kit.

Concepts

The theme for this Flavor Innovation is Vacation Mode. Consumers want simplicity, fun, and escapism with their favorite treats. What embodies those words better than a vacation? The concepts include:

Caramel Popcorn: Caramel Popcorn Flavored Ice Cream with Butter Toffee Popcorn Bark. The bark adds a unique texture and flavor experience, giving that artisan feel and that familiar slight “burnt” taste.

Dulce Churro: Caramel Flavored Ice Cream with Baked Churro Pieces and a Dulce de Leche Swirl. The baked churro piece was specially formulated with cinnamon, brown sugar, and baked notes to deliver a unique, flavor packed experience.

Lavender Berry Lemon Cake: Lemon Curd Flavored Ice Cream with Baked Pound Cake Pieces and a Blueberry Lavender Swirl. We have found success with pairing trendy botanicals with fruit for a sweet, light, balanced taste.

Black Forest Cake: Chocolate Ice Cream with Baked Choco Fudge Cake Pieces and a Dark Sweet Cherry Swirl. This German dessert flavor could be a great way to try a “global inspired” flavor with a familiar taste.

Summer Heat: Strawberry Ice Cream with Salted Chili Lime Flakes and a Salted Lime Swirl. This nondescript title leaves you eager to try the sweet and spicy flavor that evokes a refreshing strawberry margarita with a Tajín rim.

Peanut Butter Sundae Funday: Dulce de Leche Flavored Ice Cream with Salted Choco Flakes and a Peanut Butter Swirl. You had the sweet and spicy, but now it’s time for the sweet and salty. Flavor is the number one purchase motivator, so a comforting, flavor forward concept will resonate.

Inclusions

The featured inclusions in our Vacation Mode kit are as follows:

Sprinkle Flake Blend: These frosting and birthday cake flavored flakes add a pop of color with sprinkles inside.

Salted Choco Toffee Bark: This bark is reminiscent of a delicious snack mix.

Baked Choco Crust Cheesecake: This is a new indulgent twist to cheesecake by utilizing a chocolate cookie crumb crust instead of the traditional graham crumb.

Flower Shaped Sprinkle Cookie Dough: With the opportunity for a fun visual in ice cream, this dough can deliver that in a unique and sprinkle-filled shape.

Sea Salt Fudge Bit: The perfect combination of sweet, salty, and chewy.
