A newer tradition for Denali Ingredients is Safety Day, an annual event attended by all employees to celebrate everything safety!
On June 3, Denali Ingredients held its 2nd Annual Safety Day at the Ryerson Plant, where flakes, doughs, and baked inclusions are usually made! Operations cease on Safety Day so that not only the office employees, but also the production and warehouse employees can join in on the fun.
Each Denali Ingredients employee is assigned to a group with individuals they may not interact with very often in their day-to-day duties. Throughout the day, groups will visit stations hosted by various station presenters from different departments. Every 15 minutes, the group will move on to the next station. There are breaks for breakfast, lunch, and dessert, as well as vendor tables that are available to visit and browse after the station rotation is complete. To add to the fun, there are raffle prizes announced throughout the day and a grand prize winner at the end of the day.
“On a day like Safety Day, we get to interact, engage, and celebrate the things that keep us leaving work the same way we came in,” explained Jeremy Hintz, Plant Manager. “Taking time away to acknowledge the need to be safe and food safe is pivotal to our culture as it’s defined by our most important assets: our people and products. Safety Day is really a way to invest in our people and products to ensure our future success in growing Denali Ingredients.”
After a successful 2nd Annual Safety Day, the team at Denali Ingredients is already preparing for next year’s 3rd Annual!
“Safety Day means so much to me, being on the Safety team,” announced Sierra Klumpp, Training & Development Specialist. “It takes months to prepare for this day and the fact that it has been successful every year shows how important it is to everyone involved. Being able to see Denali Ingredients bring all team members together for one day, sharing information and promoting safety, food safety, and the culture, is something I will look forward to for years to come!”
