The Faces Behind the Flavors

If you received our Newstalgia Flavor Innovation kit, you got a sneak peak of this page via the QR code on the inside of the kit. We asked the Denali Ingredients R&D team what their favorite thing about being a part of Flavor Innovation was.

Liz Miller:

“My favorite part of Flavor Innovation is that we get to work on the full ice cream concepts. Often in R&D, we only see one or two pieces of the puzzle. The fact that we get to make multiple concepts leaves room for us to include some fun and quirky flavors. I just enjoy the process overall; getting to see the ideas come together all the way through to the first fully assembled kit!”

Kerry Gable:

“Flavor Innovation is a time where we can truly be innovative in both brainstorming new potential concept ideas as well as selecting or developing bases, variegates, and/or inclusions to bring the selected concepts to life. The most rewarding is for the finished concept to be selected to be shown in the kit and then hearing feedback from others on how well the finished concept is received!”

Kim Stobbe:

“It’s hard to pick just one thing. I absolutely love every part of the process. From the initial group creative experiences that we get to partake in, to the brainstorming of new concepts and then showcasing them all in the development of new creations. Innovation like this is a big part of what I find so intriguing and enjoyable about being a part of the R&D team. We get to build the components for these flavors and put them together into finished ice cream concepts; that truly is magical. It’s very exciting to participate in this process and to see our flavors shown in the kits. Also, it’s rewarding to hear the feedback from customers.”

Rachael Miller:

“My favorite thing about being a part of Flavor Innovation is getting to taste all the prototypes of our innovative creations! It’s fun to see all the ideas at the beginning be narrowed down and perfected for the end result.”

Millie Kontich:

“My favorite thing about being part of Flavor Innovation is creating the concepts from start to finish. It’s always fun creating the concepts on paper, creating the prototype by hand, and then tasting to see how it comes together!”

Jane Zeien:

“My favorite thing about Flavor Innovation is the process of exploring new trends and relating them to the Ice Cream Category”

Jessica Miller:

“Flavor Innovation allows us to venture out and see the new trends in other food industries and bring it back to the lab to create fun, new, and exciting products!”
